The Senior Paralegal reports directly to an Associate General Counsel or Assistant General Counsel, who has a specific expertise in a particular area of law. Likewise, the Senior Paralegal will have exceptional knowledge and notable experience aligned with hiring attorney’s expertise: for instance, litigation, employment law, personal injury, real estate, or commercial transactions. In addition, the Senior Paralegal will materially support additional attorneys practicing in different substantive areas of the law wherein the Senior Paralegal’s skillsets and experience will be an asset to the fast paced, deadline driven, multi-faceted environment of the Legal Department. The Senior Paralegal, under the supervision of the hiring attorney and via their interaction and experience with the work of the multiple attorneys and the other paralegals in the department, will train new paralegals and create processes and protocols which achieve efficiencies for the Legal Department and applicable business units. The Senior Paralegal will independently meet with business owners, review, analyze, and draft legal and business documents. Although the Senior Paralegal’s legal work will be conducted under the supervision of an attorney, the Senior Paralegal will be expected to function independently on many matters and have the insight and experience regarding when to escalate any and all material issues to the attention of an attorney.
