About The Position

We are currently looking for a Senior Paralegal to join our team in Franklin, TN. Under the appropriate supervision of counsel, this role manages breach of warranty, lemon law, and consumer litigation, and supervises outside counsel. The Senior Paralegal analyzes issues, determines defense or settlement strategy, reviews pleadings and discovery, and provides assistance and direction to outside counsel. This role also provides training to national and regional consumer affairs employees and acts as a thought leader or knowledge resource for non-attorney staff, providing solutions to complex problems requiring ingenuity and creativity. The position contributes to building brand value and achieving enduring profitable growth.

Requirements

  • Firm knowledge of state and federal judicial system, Rules of Civil Procedure, Rules of Evidence, litigation practice and strategy.
  • The ability to relate to people with different backgrounds, points of view and objectives to nurture strong working relationships, gain client’s trust and increase cooperation.
  • Excellent communication, influence and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to be responsive to multiple demands.
  • Five or more years as professional litigation paralegal.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
  • Professional Certification as a paralegal from an ABA certified program.
  • Familiarity with on-line legal research tools (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw) and computerized research skills.
  • Thorough working knowledge of word processor, spreadsheet, other PC applications, mainframe applications and computerized case management/litigation support systems to monitor cases and produce reports.
