This role is responsible for the coordination of real estate transactions, due diligence, closing and post-closing activities related to M&A transactions.

Requirements

  • English (required)
  • Associate's Degree
  • Certified Paralegal (or equivalent) required.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, kneel or crouch.
  • Ability to stand, walk and sit.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms
  • Visual ability correctable to 20/20.
  • Sitting up to 90% of the day.
  • Ability to respond verbally in an understandable, professional manner in person and over the telephone.
  • Manual dexterity to input data into the computer and the calculator and operate the equipment listed above.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish (preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5-10 years of real estate paralegal experience.
  • Previous experience with mergers and acquisitions (M&A) preferred.
  • Previous telecommunications and supervisory experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare (or assist in the preparation of) real estate transactions related to M&A contracts, title clearing instruments and closing documents, such as M&A contracts or transfer documents.
  • Review and analyze ground and tenant leases and contracts in connection with estoppel preparation in order to identify possible issues within the specific terms.
  • Review, analyze and organize due diligence.
  • Maintain the deal tracker with up to date statuses.
  • Correspond with third party vendors to obtain additional information.
  • Follow up with various sellers, ground lessors, tenants, vendors, customers and outside counsel on a variety of legal matters.
  • Coordinate dissemination of documents to various departments within SBA.
  • Preparation of letters, memos, and reports.
  • Maintain transaction files by ensuring items are filed correctly in the online data folders and ensure files are complete.
  • Frequently communicate and collaborate with Senior Management, as needed, in order to accomplish tasks.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.
