About The Position

Lion Health System operates three behavioral health hospitals. The Senior Paralegal, Contracts & Regulatory owns document and matter workflows in the President's Office, including contracts, regulatory filings, payer and vendor correspondence, and coordination with outside counsel and regulators. The President edits the work; this role drafts, tracks, and closes it. It is not an executive assistant or scheduling role, and it is not an attorney role; outside counsel provides legal opinions. The position is primarily on-site in Lakewood, New Jersey, with some hybrid hours. The schedule is 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in healthcare, such as at a hospital, health system, or health law practice.
  • Strong drafting skills; candidates will complete a timed writing exercise.
  • Daily use of AI drafting tools; training on the company's workflow will be provided.
  • Ability to manage high volume, including carrying 30 or more open matters without dropping any.
  • Discretion in handling confidential and PHI-adjacent material.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare first drafts and redlines of contracts, amendments, business associate agreements (BAAs), payer and vendor correspondence, and regulatory submissions.
  • Manage the contract lifecycle, including intake, version control, execution, and renewal tracking.
  • Prepare regulatory and licensure filings—including CMS 855A, change-of-ownership filings, state licensure renewals, and accreditation submissions—for executive review.
  • Maintain a live matter tracker covering outside counsel, lobbyists, regulators, and payer disputes, with the status and next action for each matter.
  • Follow up with vendors, payers, and counsel to keep open items moving.
