About The Position

Montcure is seeking a Senior Palantir Foundry Ontology & Reporting Engineer to support modernization of Navy financial management reporting within the Palantir Foundry platform. The successful candidate will design and build the Foundry ontology that supports executive reporting and analytics. This includes identifying business objects from existing enterprise data sources, defining object properties and relationships, mapping source data into the ontology, and creating reporting-ready data models that support executive dashboards, scorecards, and operational reporting. Working closely with business stakeholders and data engineers, the engineer will translate reporting requirements into scalable Foundry solutions that enable senior leadership to analyze financial management and audit information using trusted, authoritative enterprise data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years designing and implementing enterprise reporting, analytics, or data solutions supporting operational or executive decision-making.
  • 2+ years hands-on experience designing and implementing solutions within Palantir Foundry.
  • Experience designing ontology object models, business entities, properties, and relationships that support operational reporting and analytics.
  • Experience translating business requirements into scalable semantic data models and designing executive dashboards, scorecards, or analytical reporting solutions.
  • Working proficiency with Python and SQL to perform data mapping, validation, and transformation activities supporting ontology development.
  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to define reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Secret clearance (must be able to maintain during employment).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Workshop, Quiver, Ontology Manager, Object Types, Object Views, Object Sets, Functions, and related Foundry capabilities.
  • Experience with WDP, Navy ERP, or federal financial management.
  • Experience supporting Navy Financial Management, FMDDT, audit readiness, or executive reporting initiatives.
  • Experience modernizing or replacing legacy reporting solutions with ontology-driven reporting capabilities.
  • Experience designing executive dashboards and scorecards for senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Design and configure Foundry ontology components, including business objects, properties, relationships, and supporting data structures required to deliver executive reporting and analytics.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable semantic models.
  • Develop reporting-ready ontology models that enable dashboards, scorecards, and executive reporting capabilities within the Foundry platform.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify business entities, define reporting concepts, and translate those concepts into ontology objects, properties, relationships, and reporting-ready data models.
  • Analyze enterprise source systems, data models, and existing reporting solutions to identify the data required to support executive reporting and analytics within Foundry.
  • Design and implement scalable data mapping strategies that transform source-system data into reporting-ready ontology objects while preserving data integrity, traceability, and business meaning.
  • Evaluate source data structures, identify data gaps, inconsistencies, and reporting dependencies, and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve data modeling challenges before implementation.
  • Develop and configure data ingestion, mapping, and transformation logic necessary to populate ontology objects from authoritative enterprise data sources including WDP (formerly ADVANA), Navy ERP, and related financial systems.
  • Validate source-to-target mappings and ensure ontology objects accurately represent business concepts, relationships, and reporting requirements.
  • Partner with data engineers responsible for enterprise pipelines to ensure data is delivered in a format that supports scalable ontology design and executive reporting.
  • Design and develop executive dashboards, scorecards, and analytical reporting solutions that provide senior leadership with meaningful insight into Navy financial management and audit operations.
  • Translate executive reporting requirements into intuitive reporting structures, visualizations, and analytical experiences within the Foundry platform.
  • Develop reporting models that support trend analysis, performance measurement, operational oversight, and executive decision-making.
  • Validate reporting outputs with business stakeholders to ensure metrics, calculations, and visualizations accurately represent business intent and support operational decision-making.
  • Continuously evaluate reporting effectiveness and recommend improvements to ontology structures, reporting logic, and visualization approaches to enhance usability and executive insight.
  • Analyze existing WDP reports, scorecards, and analytical products to identify underlying business logic and translate those capabilities into modern Foundry reporting solutions.
  • Analyze existing executive reporting capabilities and identify opportunities to improve reporting usability, performance, and analytical insight through modern Foundry-based reporting products.
  • Lead discovery sessions with functional stakeholders to understand reporting objectives, business processes, performance metrics, and analytical requirements.
  • Translate business concepts into technical solution designs, ensuring reporting requirements are accurately represented within the Foundry ontology and reporting environment.
  • Serve as the technical advisor for ontology and reporting design, providing guidance on solution approaches, platform capabilities, and implementation best practices.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, platform engineers, and business stakeholders throughout the solution lifecycle to ensure technical implementations align with functional objectives.
  • Develop technical documentation describing ontology models, reporting logic, data mappings, and solution architecture to support long-term platform sustainability and knowledge transfer.
  • Present solution concepts, prototypes, and completed reporting capabilities to stakeholders, incorporating feedback to continuously refine reporting functionality and user experience.
