Palantir Foundry Software Engineer

Radiance TechnologiesSpringfield, VA
Hybrid

About The Position

This role involves designing, developing, testing, and deploying geospatial analytic applications within Palantir Foundry, Palantir Gaia, and other Palantir platforms. The engineer will use government-approved SDKs, APIs, and integration frameworks, and develop custom embedded applications using TypeScript with the Ontology Software Development Kit (OSDK). Responsibilities include building and configuring UI screens, dashboards, and workflow steps using Foundry tools like Workshop and Slate, and implementing/maintaining data pipelines using Python and/or TypeScript for GEOINT data feeds. The applications must support interactive geospatial analysis, including mapping, spatial querying, geofencing, clustering, custom objects, custom workflow applications, and temporal analysis. Data integration involves mapping, transforming, and normalizing data to align with government-specified object ontologies and data schemas, designing object types, actions, and linkages, and implementing logic for data quality, duplication prevention, and consistency. The role also requires enabling interoperability with external geospatial data sources and APIs, and developing low-code/no-code data pipelines. Solution architecture and design include eliciting and documenting user workflows and technical requirements, designing system architectures, defining data identity, de-duplication, object history, and data provenance rules, and defining acceptance criteria.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret / SCI security clearance required at time of application.
  • Must be willing and eligible to undergo a Counterintelligence (CI) Scope Polygraph examination; must complete within 90 days of assignment if not completed within the past 5 years.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of software development experience in an enterprise or mission-critical environment.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience developing on Palantir Foundry or other Palantir platforms (e.g., Gaia, AIP).
  • Demonstrated experience with TypeScript and/or Python for application and pipeline development.
  • Experience with geospatial data types including EO, SAR, FMV, HMI, vector, and raster datasets.
  • Experience supporting agile software development in an intelligence, DoD, or national security context.
  • Must possess and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance throughout the period of performance.
  • Must self-report security issues, foreign contacts, and other applicable matters per SEAD 3.
  • Must comply with all NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117) and DD Form 254 requirements.
  • Must adhere to physical security requirements including restrictions on prohibited items in NGA or secure facilities.
  • Must comply with DFARS 252.204-7012 requirements for handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
  • Must participate in contractor insider threat program consistent with E.O. 13587.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience may substitute.
  • Experience with Target Workbench v2 ontology and implementation of custom Workshops/Slates into Target Workbench tabs.
  • Familiarity with SOM (Structured Object Management), as well as PHOEBE or equivalent NGA tools.
  • Object relational mapping (create Object types).
  • Methods for ensuring data health and data quality.
  • Familiarity with NGA analytic mission workflows, GEOINT data types, and related data management systems.
  • Experience with Computer Vision (CV), Natural Language Processing (NLP), or Machine Learning (ML) in a geospatial context.
  • Palantir Developer certifications or formal Palantir training credentials.
  • Experience supporting NGA, DIA, NRO, or other IC/DoD intelligence community programs.
  • Experience with Elastic and cloud-native data infrastructure on AWS GovCloud or C2E-compliant environments.
  • Prior experience with transition planning and knowledge transfer to O&M sustainment contractors.
  • Strong UX/UI design sensibility with experience applying human-centered design practices.
  • Experience with Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (PED) workflows strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy geospatial analytic applications within Palantir Foundry, Palantir Gaia, and other Palantir platforms using government-approved SDKs, APIs, and integration frameworks.

  • Build and configure UI screens, dashboards, and workflow steps using Foundry tools such as Workshop and Slate.
  • Implement and maintain data pipelines using Python and/or TypeScript to ingest, transform, and normalize internal and external GEOINT data feeds.
  • Ensure applications support interactive geospatial analysis including mapping, spatial querying, geofencing, clustering, custom objects, custom workflow applications, and temporal analysis.
  • Map, transform, and normalize incoming data to align with Government-specified object ontologies and data schemas.
  • Design and create object types, actions, and linkages to support data ontologization.
