As a Senior Packaging Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and delivering packaging system capabilities that enable innovation, efficiency, and growth across our manufacturing network. In this role, you’ll partner with cross-functional teams to lead capital projects—from concept through start-up—while driving safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. This position requires 100% on site with minimal travel required.
Requirements
- Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or 10+ years of packaging/project experience
- 5+ years of engineering experience, including capital project execution in manufacturing environments.
- Experience managing project scope, timelines, and budgets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to drive results and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG) or manufacturing environments.
- Background in Operations and/or maintenance/reliability engineering roles.
- Experience with 2D and 3D modeling software (ACAD, Solidworks, etc.).
- Knowledge of CI / Lean / TPM methodologies.
- Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, installation, commissioning, and start-up of packaging systems for new products, upgrades, and capacity improvements.
- Manage medium-scale capital projects, including scope definition, schedule, budget, and resource planning.
- Provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams across Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Operations.
- Apply Continuous Improvement, Lean, and Early Management principles to optimize performance and reliability.
- Identify and deliver cost savings, productivity improvements, and sustainability initiatives.
- Ensure projects meet safety, quality, regulatory, and environmental standards.
- Evaluate and manage external vendors, consultants, and equipment suppliers.
- Analyze performance data and solve complex technical problems using a structured, data driven approach.
- Coach and support Operations and Maintenance teams to build technical capability and drive long-term results.
