About The Position
WisEngineering, LLC is seeking a Senior Packaging Engineer to provide production engineering support for advanced armaments packing and packaging systems. This role involves serving as the technical authority across multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), leading the planning and execution of design, development, and product improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical engineering expertise combined with exceptional communication skills, enabling them to present product improvements to clients and complex technical concepts at industry events.
Requirements
- Strong background in production or packaging engineering, specifically within defense, armaments, or heavily regulated military packing systems.
- Proven experience operating as a technical authority within Integrated Product Teams.
- Experience writing technical proposals and presenting solutions to prospective clients.
- Exceptional presentation and technical writing skills, with the ability to convey high-level technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Willingness and availability to travel up to 25% as needed.
- US Citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience with DoD standard packaging, defense contracting, or military transportability requirements.
- Active Security Clearance (or eligibility to obtain one), if required by the program.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary packaging authority within cross-functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), guiding product design and technical execution.
- Plan, manage, and execute all technical phases of armament packaging design, development, testing, and production engineering.
- Identify optimization opportunities and prepare technical product improvement proposals for prospective clients.
- Utilize advanced oral and written communication skills to present complex technical data, designs, and strategies at client briefings and conferences.
- Travel up to 25% annually for team meetings, customer briefings, and technical conferences.
