About The Position

Incumbent performs clinical assessment and care management for orthopedic outpatients. Presents relevant patient data to the physician. Removes sutures. Applies and removes casts and splints. Collects and records patient data. Provides patient information and instructions. Monitors patient flow during clinic hours. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, i.e. neonate, pediatric, adult or geriatric and provide the care needed. Demonstrates positive attitude and excellent customer service to all.

Requirements

  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Minimum 2 years experience working as an Orthopaedic Technician
  • Knowledge and abilities essential to the performance of the duties assigned to the position
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Current Orthopaedic Technologist Certified (OTC) from National Board for Certification of Orthopaedic Technologists, or Registered Orthopedic Technologist (ROT) certification from the American Society of Orthopedic Professionals
  • BLS certification upon hire
  • Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  • Must be able to provide proof of work authorization

Nice To Haves

  • Medical Assistant Diploma or Certificate of Competency / Recognition in Medical Assisting Clinical / Back Office
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
