About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle/Exadata DBA to manage and optimize Oracle databases hosted on Oracle Exadata and Linux platforms within AWS. The role will own application schemas, database design, extensions, performance tuning, replication, and production support across development, test, and production environments. The DBA will work closely with application development teams on modernization initiatives and ensure database solutions are scalable, highly available, secure, and optimized for high-volume workloads.

Requirements

5+ years of experience with Oracle Exadata architecture, including Storage Cells, InfiniBand networking, Smart Scan, and Hybrid Columnar Compression (HCC).
5+ years managing Oracle ASM and monitoring ASM disk groups.
3+ years installing, patching, and upgrading Oracle Database software and Exadata components.
2+ years performing performance tuning at both the Oracle database and Exadata storage layers.
7+ years designing database schemas, access patterns, indexing, locking strategies, and tuning Oracle databases.
7+ years troubleshooting complex issues across database, Linux/OS, and Exadata storage components.
2+ years of experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) or Cloud Control.
7+ years of strong SQL writing and optimization experience.
Strong experience with Oracle Data Guard and high-availability/disaster-recovery solutions.
Experience with Oracle GoldenGate replication.
Experience supporting Oracle databases in AWS/cloud environments.
Strong understanding of Oracle database administration, backup/recovery, patching, upgrades, and production support.
Ability to participate in on-call rotation and weekend support.

Responsibilities

Manage Oracle database environments across development, test, and production on Exadata, Linux, and AWS.
Design and manage application schemas, tables, database structures, extensions, and access patterns.
Collaborate with developers on data requirements, SQL development, query optimization, and database design.
Support application modernization initiatives with scalable and reliable database solutions.
Diagnose and resolve complex database performance, configuration, availability, OS, and Exadata storage issues.
Administer Oracle Data Guard for high availability and disaster recovery.
Implement and manage Oracle GoldenGate replication solutions.
Perform database and Exadata storage-layer performance tuning and resource management.
Manage Oracle ASM, including disk groups and storage monitoring.
Perform database backups, restores, patching, upgrades, and maintenance.
Install, patch, and upgrade Oracle Database software and Exadata components, including PSU, DBRU, and Release Updates.
Establish database administration procedures, standards, operational controls, and cloud best practices.
Use Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)/Cloud Control for database monitoring, diagnostics, and performance analysis.
Provide strong SQL development and troubleshooting support for high-volume applications.
Participate in on-call rotation and weekend support as required.
