About The Position

CORE-CSI is a small business headquartered in Sterling, VA. We provide trusted and results-oriented expertise to the Intelligence Community, the Department of Defense, and other Federal and Commercial customers across the US. Core-CSI is seeking a talented Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) / Oracle Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a federal government customer. The Senior Oracle DBA will provide database administration, development, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational support across enterprise on-premises and cloud environments.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant Oracle/database experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database, Oracle Grid, Oracle RMAN, and PL/SQL.
  • Experience with HA/DR, backup and recovery, performance tuning, patching, monitoring, and incident management.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and related enterprise database technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with technical and management teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Oracle professional certification is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise Oracle database environments.
  • Support Oracle Database, Oracle Grid, Oracle RMAN, PL/SQL, and related database technologies.
  • Create, configure, and manage standalone Oracle databases.
  • Perform database monitoring, performance tuning, backup, recovery, and capacity planning.
  • Support High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) environments and execute/test recovery procedures.
  • Perform software installations, database/server patching, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and triage database and application integration issues.
  • Manage service requests, incidents, and change requests through ServiceNow.
  • Support database security, auditing, encryption, and compliance requirements.
  • Develop scripts and automation to improve database administration and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with technical teams, application owners, and government stakeholders.
  • Document activities and contribute to required weekly support reports.
