About The Position

Micron Technology in Boise, Idaho has a current need for a Senior or Staff R&D Photolithography Materials Engineer. As an R&D Photolithography Materials Engineer at Micron Technology Inc., we are responsible for photolithography material selection and optimization for advanced memory devices. In this position, you will develop new technology and photo materials that meet device requirements and integrate new technology into manufacturing processes. This work could include photo materials for any photo processes including hardmasks and resists for I-line (365nm) through EUV (13.5nm). Additionally, you will address process and materials issues with pilot manufacturing and work on continuous improvements for manufacturability.

Requirements

• Must have knowledge and an understanding of chemical process specific to lithography, including materials for 365 nm, 248 nm, 193 nm, and EUV lithography.
• Coursework or industry experience showing strong statistical analysis skills, including DOEs and data analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to write and present clear and concise executive summaries for Micron and supplier management teams.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of optics for photolithography or other diffraction-limited imaging is preferred.
• Experience with JMP or other statistical analysis software is preferred.
• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or other technical field with 5+ years of experience or Master's Degree with 3+ years of Experience or PhD with 1+ years of experience in lithography
• Experience in optimizing photoresist chemistry for 193nm immersion or EUV applications
• Experience working with suppliers to deliver customized solutions on a timeline while protecting intellectual property (IP)

Responsibilities

• Lead long-term resist screening projects.
• Define success criteria with process owners, evaluate multiple rounds of design of experiments (DOEs) with suppliers, and identify top materials for detailed evaluation on devices in technology development.
• Broad knowledge and experience in photoresist chemistry with an ability to direct material optimization and development with our suppliers
• Work in a cleanroom, follow safety procedures, and use appropriate personal protection equipment to safely handle photoresists and other chemicals.
• The ability to work effectively across different sites and organizations within Micron.
• Use artificial intelligence (AI) with human review to automate data analysis or repetitive workflows
