About The Position

The Senior Operator is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of machinery and equipment in the production environment. This role involves coordinating daily tasks, troubleshooting issues, mentoring staff, and ensuring production goals and quality standards are met.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training preferred.
3+ years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
Proven experience operating and maintaining production machinery.
Strong understanding of safety procedures and quality control standards.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and work orders.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
Knowledge of ERP or MES systems for tracking production (preferred).
Forklift certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

Operate, monitor, and maintain machinery or equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Lead shift operations, providing guidance to operators and production workers.
Ensure production targets, quality standards, and safety protocols are consistently met.
Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
Train and mentor new and junior operators.
Record and report daily production data, downtime, and any deviations from standard processes.
Work collaboratively with quality assurance, continuous improvement, and maintenance teams.
Ensure proper documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Identify and suggest process improvements for increased efficiency and safety.
Participate in safety meetings and actively support safety culture on the floor.
