The Operations Research Analyst will support the client Strategy & Operations Analysis (SOA) Unit by applying quantitative analysis, predictive modeling, simulation, and decision-support methodologies to improve immigration enforcement operations and strategic planning. The analyst will contribute to forecasting resource requirements, evaluating operational impacts of policy changes, and developing analytical products that support headquarters and field-level decision-making.

Requirements

  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of experience conducting quantitative analysis and operations research.
  • Experience utilizing Python, R, SQL, or similar analytical languages.
  • Experience with modeling, simulation, optimization, or forecasting techniques.
  • Strong analytical writing and presentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting DHS, ICE, DoD, or other federal agencies.
  • Experience with Tableau, Qlik, ArcGIS, Databricks, Palantir Foundry, or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with immigration, law enforcement, or public-sector operations.
  • Master's degree in a quantitative discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain predictive models and analytical tools supporting the Immigration Enforcement Lifecycle.
  • Conduct operational research studies leveraging statistical, simulation, optimization, and forecasting methodologies.
  • Support development and enhancement of Discrete Event Simulation (DES) models.
  • Evaluate resource allocation, workforce planning, logistics, and operational effectiveness.
  • Perform scenario analysis and impact assessments related to policy, migration, and operational changes.
  • Support geospatial analysis initiatives utilizing GIS tools.
  • Develop analytical reports, presentations, dashboards, and executive briefings.
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings to gather requirements and communicate findings.
  • Support preparation of DHS model accreditation and documentation packages.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, strategists, and engineers to improve forecasting and decision-support capabilities.
