About The Position

Tournesol Siteworks is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to oversee manufacturing operations in the US and Mexico. This position will be based at either their Southern California facility or the Port Orchard, WA facility and will require significant travel between three manufacturing locations. The Senior Operations Manager will oversee the Plant Managers while collaborating closely with Quality Control, Safety, Manufacturing Technology, and other teams to drive operational excellence, consistency, scalability, and continuous improvement. The role emphasizes standardization across locations, cross-site coordination, and resource optimization. The Senior Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the company’s manufacturing operations. This includes developing and implementing manufacturing strategies, as well as leading and mentoring the Plant Managers. The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring that all manufacturing processes are efficient and cost-effective, while also meeting the needs of customers and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of success as a Senior Operations Manager or similar role
  • Experience in a custom, project-driven manufacturing environment with varying production requirements preferred
  • Strong leadership and management abilities, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team
  • Excellent problem-solving and data driven decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing principles, processes, and technologies, including lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems and best practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels
  • Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, like NetSuite
  • Ability to run effective meetings and facilitate group discussions, to lead decision-making processes
  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced and changing environments, and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Experience working with international companies a plus
  • Fluent in Spanish highly desired

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement operational strategies, policies and procedures that align with the overall goals and objectives of the company
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing plants, including production planning capacity management and scaling operations for growth
  • Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency, productivity, and profitability targets are consistently met or exceeded by driving process improvements and resolving bottlenecks
  • Own the P&L budget, worth with manufacturing technology to drive cost-down initiatives in materials, design, and processes to optimize operational expenses
  • Champion a culture of compliance and safety across sites
  • Manage and develop high-performing site leadership teams. Foster a high-performance culture in all locations
  • Create and analyze reporting data to evaluate performance, productivity and efficiency
  • Monitoring company revenue margins and conducting budget reviews to maximize profits
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in manufacturing, and actively seek opportunities to leverage new technologies or methodologies to improve manufacturing processes
  • Collaborate with other departments to create coordinated plans for business growth
