About The Position

The Senior Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Manager for the Kennedy Propellants and Life Support Services (KPLSS II) program oversees daily operational activities and maintenance functions to ensure equipment, systems, and facilities remain fully mission-capable and compliant with all safety, quality, and procedural requirements. This role leads cross‑functional teams, manages preventive and corrective maintenance programs, supports project execution, and ensures operational readiness for all supported systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Technology, Facilities Management, Business, or related discipline (or equivalent experience), plus 12 years of experience in operations, facilities maintenance, industrial systems maintenance, or aerospace/defense contract support.
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience leading multi‑disciplinary technical teams.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, fluid, pressure systems, and facility operations.
  • Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (Maximo or equivalent) and scheduling software (Primavera or equivalent).
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, procedures, and system documentation.
  • Strong communication, problem‑solving, and leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning ability.
  • Ability to make timely decisions, manage competing priorities, and work independently.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
  • US citizenship is required for restricted area access.
  • A driver's license is required to independently travel onto and around KSC property.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and manage O&M programs, ensure maintenance strategies, schedules, and workflows are optimized for reliability, efficiency, compliance, and risk mitigation.
  • Supervise day‑to‑day operations, including installation, repair, calibration, and inspection activities.
  • Adheres to work control processes, ensuring proper work-order creation, prioritization, tracking, documentation, and closure.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and quality requirements; enforce OSHA, NFPA, NASA procedural standards, and contract-specific Performance Work Statement (PWS) requirements.
  • Lead and coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams including supervisors, mechanics, technicians, electricians, and subcontractors; assign tasks, verify completion, and evaluate performance.
  • Manage O&M budgets, track expenditures, identify cost savings, and support long‑range planning.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including engineering, logistics, operations, safety, and customer representatives to ensure mission and customer support needs are met.
  • Track maintenance metrics such as PM compliance, schedule adherence, backlog levels, asset performance, and reliability trends.
  • Respond to emergent issues, driving troubleshooting efforts, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Prepare reports, briefings, and data summaries in support of leadership, customers, audits, and reviews.
  • Drive continuous improvement, identifying inefficiencies, proposing process improvements, and implementing best practices.
  • Enforce a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Conform to the Quality Policy and carry out job activities in compliance with applicable Quality System documents and customer contracts.
  • Read and understand his/her Quality Management and Customer Satisfaction responsibilities.
  • Read, understand and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to his/her job.
