Senior Operational Support Associate
About The Position
MRC Global serves the oil and gas industry across the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors as well as the chemical and gas distribution market sectors worldwide. The Senior Operational Support Associate will serve as the lead and provide guidance and support to the Operational Support team while ensuring efficient operational support and inventory management by serving as the primary liaison between internal teams and third-party yard resources. This role facilitates the team workload to support timely order releases, maintaining accurate inventory, system records, damage documentation, and claims processing.
Requirements
- Requires a high school diploma and/or 2 - 3 years of related experience, or may possess a degree in combination with experience.
- Possess computer skills to include Microsoft Office and Excel proficiency.
- Empowers team members through support and guidance and fosters a collaborative and accountable team culture.
- Possess strong analytical skills to identify inefficiencies and implement solutions, and good decision-making abilities.
- Experienced in managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Skilled in delegating tasks and tracking progress for accountability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a natural ability to connect across all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a mentor and resource for Operational Support Associates, ensuring alignment with operational goals.
- Ensure the team responds to internal and external communications in a timely and professional manner.
- Monitor workload distribution and ensure team coverage across all operational support functions.
- Act as an escalation point for complex issues involving third-party yards or internal processes.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for 3rd party yard resources
- Ensure the timely release of orders from yards to provide OTD to our customers.
- Expedite pipe tally sheets and other information from 3rd-party yards.
- Ship Support materials within 24 hours of receiving pipe tallies from the third-party yard.
- Perform inventory reconciliations for third-party yard inventory materials.
- Assist with service center and corporate continuous improvement projects.
- Assist and maintain system work instructions.
- Maintain confidential information pertaining to operations and contract information.
- Develop expertise in the intricacies of one or more functional areas.
- Assist with user testing of IT enhancements.
- Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
