About The Position
The Senior Operating Room Assistant at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center is a Full-Time (0.9 FTE), Day Shift position. The schedule for this position is Sunday, Monday, and Saturday from 06:30 to 19:00. This role involves retrieving and assembling necessary supplies and equipment for surgical procedures, monitoring instrument and supply levels, coordinating sterile supply areas, and collaborating with materials management to address shortages. Additionally, the Senior Operating Room Assistant assists in cleaning and preparing operating rooms, safely transports patients, handles the decontamination of instrumentation, delivers equipment, and processes/maintains equipment and instruments. Requirements
- Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
- 2 years experience in the Operating Room
Responsibilities
- Retrieves and assembles all necessary supplies and equipment for each surgery procedure.
- Monitors instrument and supply levels in the sterile supply areas.
- Coordinates the location of supplies in the sterile supply area.
- Collaborates with materials management to address shortages.
- Assists in cleaning and preparing operating rooms.
- Safely transports patients.
- Retrieves and decontaminates instrumentation.
- Delivers equipment.
- Processes and maintains equipment and instruments.
- May assist with opening supplies before surgery.
