About The Position

Amgen is seeking a Senior Oncology Specialist to serve as the primary customer contact, providing clinical knowledge of Amgen's products to medical professionals. This role is crucial in communicating the clinical and economic benefits of Amgen's medicines, which treat serious illnesses and address diseases with limited treatment options. The Senior Oncology Specialist will be responsible for achieving territory sales by creating and executing a comprehensive territory plan, including delivering branded sales messages, executing planned programs, scheduling and following up with medical educational programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets. The role also involves utilizing internal and external relationships to service and manage accounts, ensuring product access, resolving reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts. A key aspect of the role is crafting an effective marketing strategy to drive sales, analyzing sales activities and territory performance, and developing territory plans with the District Manager. The specialist must demonstrate passion for Amgen's products throughout the sales cycle, build the brand, and focus on serving patients. Collaboration with colleagues to share best practices and continuous learning are also essential. The role requires leveraging passion for Oncology, disease state awareness, and knowledge of industry, regulatory, and competitive changes to deliver agreed results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related OR Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related OR High school diploma / GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience in Oncology
  • Three or more years of sales and/or marketing experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or medical device industries.
  • Product or hospital sales experience in the areas of oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology and inflammation.
  • Neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases, and the diseases and treatments involved with these specialties.
  • Local Market knowledge.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize internal and external relationships to service and manage accounts, including ensuring product access, resolving/triage reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
  • Craft an effective marketing strategy to aid in driving sales.
  • Analyze business effectiveness of sales activities and territory analysis, as well as develop territory plans with your District Manager.
  • Sustain passion for products through the entire sales cycle while always building the brand and focusing on serving patients.
  • Partner with other colleagues to share best practices.
  • Be in a state of continuous curiosity and learning to help you grow as a Sr. Oncology Specialist.
