About The Position

Join Amgen's mission to serve patients living with serious illnesses. Amgen is a leader in biotechnology, focusing on Oncology, Inflammation, General Medicine, and Rare Disease. This role serves as the primary customer contact, providing clinical knowledge of Amgen's products and communicating their clinical and economic benefits to medical professionals. The Senior Oncology Specialist will achieve territory sales by executing a comprehensive territory plan, delivering branded sales messages, executing programs, scheduling and following up with medical educational programs, and achieving sales targets. This role also involves servicing and managing accounts, ensuring product access, resolving reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts. A key aspect is crafting an effective marketing strategy, analyzing sales activity effectiveness, and developing territory plans with the District Manager. The role requires passion for products, continuous learning, and leveraging knowledge of Oncology, disease states, industry, regulatory, and competitive changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related OR Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related OR High school diploma / GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience in Oncology
  • Three or more years of sales and/or marketing experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or medical device industries.
  • Product or hospital sales experience in the areas of oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology and inflammation. Neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases, and the diseases and treatments involved with these specialties.
  • Local Market knowledge.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary customer contact to provide current and comprehensive clinical knowledge of Amgen's products and effectively communicate the clinical and economic benefits of the products to medical professionals.
  • Create and execute on a comprehensive territory plan, which includes delivering branded sales messages, executing planned programs, scheduling and following-up with medical educational programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Utilize internal and external relationships to service and manage accounts, including ensuring product access, resolving/triage reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
  • Craft an effective marketing strategy to aid in driving sales.
  • Analyze business effectiveness of sales activities and territory analysis, as well as develop territory plans with your District Manager.
  • Partner with other colleagues to share best practices and be in a state of continuous curiosity and learning.
  • Leverage passion for Oncology and disease state awareness, Industry, regulatory and competitive changes to deliver agreed results.
