About The Position

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Architect for a hybrid, long-term contract position based in Richmond, VA. This role requires a seasoned professional with deep technical knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), cloud-native design, and secure cloud solution delivery within enterprise environments.

  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Design & Deployment: 4+ years
  • Overall Cloud Architecture & Cloud-Native Design: 8+ years
  • Security Reviews of IT Projects & Environments: 8+ years
  • Cloud Networking (Virtual Networks, VPNs, NSGs, Load Balancers, Subnets): 8+ years
  • Cloud Technologies (Containers, Serverless, DBaaS): 8+ years
  • Configuration & Monitoring Tools (e.g., Puppet, Splunk, OCI Monitoring): 8+ years
  • Scripting & Build Tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub, Terraform): 8+ years
  • Familiarity with Regulatory Frameworks (NIST, FedRAMP, PCI, CJIS): 8+ years
  • Technical Documentation & Architectural Diagramming: 8+ years
  • Communication & Presentation Skills: 8+ years
  • Stakeholder & Fiscal Review of Solutions: 8+ years
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams.
  • Minimum of 10 years in IT, with at least 3 years in cloud environments (preferably OCI).

  • Cloud Certifications in OCI (Ops, Architecture, Security)
  • Master’s Degree (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Design, review, and implement Oracle OCI-based services and enterprise solutions.
  • Collaborate with customer agencies, internal teams, and third-party vendors to ensure secure, efficient, and compliant cloud architectures.
  • Conduct technical reviews of projects and infrastructure changes to ensure alignment with security standards and business goals.
  • Create and maintain architectural documentation including diagrams, reference models, and best practices.
  • Support implementation, migration, and management of operating systems and enterprise applications in cloud environments.
  • Provide technical leadership and act as a subject matter expert on OCI cloud operations.
  • Ensure adherence to industry security and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, PCI, CJIS, FedRAMP).
