About The Position

The Health and Human Services Agency is hiring a Senior Occupational Therapist for California Children Services (CCS). The official class title is Senior Occupational/Physical Therapist. The position administers medically necessary occupational therapy services, as prescribed by physicians, to children with neuromuscular and/or musculoskeletal disorders and provides consultation to other agencies. Incumbents assist in the technical supervision and training of lower-level professional and support staff and provide operational support to the Supervising Therapist. Interviews and job offers are expected to begin the week of November 9, 2026. The starting salary will be based on the candidate’s qualifications at appointment. A 4.47% base-pay increase is scheduled for June 2027 (3% across-the-board and 1.47% market adjustment). The anticipated start date depends on successful completion of medical screening or another mutually agreed date. Candidates must meet the occupational therapy licensure requirements and experience qualifications. Applicants must include relevant experience in both the Work Experience and Supplemental Questionnaire sections of the application. Qualified applicants are placed on a six-month employment list based on evaluation scores. The County conducts a background check, including fingerprinting, and pre-employment medical screening; additional job-related background investigations may apply. Current County employees may be excluded from additional screening. Positions in CCS require physical disabilities pediatric work. Reasonable accommodation may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities on a case-by-case basis. County employees are designated as disaster service workers and may be assigned disaster service activities as required by law or their employer.
