About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior HPE NonStop Administrator to support mission-critical train dispatching systems. This role is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and 24/7 availability of HPE NonStop (Tandem). environments that power real-time transportation operations. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in fault-tolerant systems, system administration, performance tuning, and disaster recovery, with a strong focus on maintaining high availability in SLA-driven environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Min 7+ years of hands-on experience with HPE NonStop (Tandem) systems.
  • Strong expertise in Guardian and OSS environments.
  • Proficiency with utilities such as FUP, SCF, and TACL.
  • Hands-on experience with TACL scripting for automation.
  • Experience with system patching, upgrades, and security hardening.
  • Strong knowledge of Enscribe file systems and access control mechanisms.
  • Experience with Pathway server configuration and administration.
  • Familiarity with NetBatch or similar job scheduling tools.
  • Experience with Event Management System (EMS) monitoring and diagnostics.
  • Knowledge of network administration, including CLIM configuration and IP management.

Nice To Haves

  • HPE NonStop Certification.
  • 10+ years of NonStop administration experience.
  • Experience in transportation, logistics, or dispatching systems.
  • Knowledge of NonStop SQL/MP and SQL/MX.
  • Exposure to hybrid integrations (REST APIs, iTPWebServer, NSHTTP).
  • Experience working in SLA-driven and regulated environments.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain HPE NonStop (Tandem) systems across production and development environments.
  • Ensure 24/7 system uptime for mission-critical applications.
  • Perform system startups, shutdowns, cold loads, and recovery procedures.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and health; proactively troubleshoot issues.
  • Implement and enforce security policies, access controls, and audit compliance.
  • Detect and respond to security incidents and unauthorized access attempts.
  • Conduct performance tuning using tools like MEASURE.
  • Perform capacity planning and system optimization.
  • Manage and test backup and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Apply OS patches, firmware updates, and system upgrades.
  • Support high-availability configurations and fault-tolerant architectures.
  • Coordinate change management and release cycles with cross-functional teams.
  • Provide support for Severity 1 & 2 incidents and perform root cause analysis.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and off-hours maintenance.
  • Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and system configurations.
