About The Position

We are hiring a Senior HPE NonStop Administrator to support mission-critical train dispatching systems in a high-availability environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and 24/7 uptime of HPE NonStop (Tandem) systems that directly support real-time transportation operations. This is a hands-on role requiring deep expertise in fault-tolerant systems, system administration, performance tuning, and disaster recovery, operating under strict SLA-driven conditions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with HPE NonStop (Tandem) systems.
  • Strong expertise in Guardian and OSS environments.
  • Proficiency with utilities: FUP, SCF, TACL.
  • Hands-on experience with TACL scripting and automation.
  • Experience with system patching, upgrades, and OS-level security hardening.
  • Strong knowledge of Enscribe file systems and access control.
  • Experience with Pathway server configuration and administration.
  • Familiarity with NetBatch or similar job scheduling tools.
  • Experience with EMS (Event Management System) monitoring and diagnostics.
  • Knowledge of network administration, including CLIM configuration and IP management.

Nice To Haves

  • HPE NonStop Certification.
  • 10+ years of NonStop administration experience.
  • Experience in transportation, logistics, or dispatching environments.
  • Knowledge of NonStop SQL/MP and SQL/MX.
  • Exposure to hybrid integrations (REST APIs, iTPWebServer, NSHTTP).
  • Experience working in SLA-driven and regulated environments.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain HPE NonStop (Tandem) systems in production and development environments.
  • Ensure continuous 24/7 system availability for mission-critical applications.
  • Perform system startups, shutdowns, cold loads, and recovery procedures.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and availability; proactively resolve issues.
  • Implement and enforce security policies, user access controls, and audit compliance.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents and unauthorized access.
  • Perform performance analysis and tuning using tools such as MEASURE.
  • Conduct capacity planning and resource optimization.
  • Implement and validate backup and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Support high-availability configurations and fault-tolerant architectures.
  • Apply OS patches, firmware updates, and system upgrades.
  • Coordinate change management and release cycles with Dev, QA, and Ops teams.
  • Support Severity 1 & 2 incidents and perform root cause analysis.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and after-hours maintenance.
  • Maintain system documentation, runbooks, and configuration records.
