Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer – F5 / NetScaler
About The Position
The Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer will serve as a senior technical engineer supporting enterprise load balancing and DNS. The role leads the design, deployment, optimization, and troubleshooting of highly available infrastructure solutions, with a focus on F5 and Citrix NetScaler technologies. The engineer supports Fiserv’s government programs and partners with infrastructure, application, security, OEM, and vendor teams to deliver secure, resilient, and scalable solutions in a regulated financial environment. The position requires in-person collaboration and works a second-shift schedule. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents. The role requires the use of a computer and audio equipment.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in network, systems, infrastructure engineering, or a related field.
- At least 6 years of experience designing, deploying, and supporting Citrix NetScaler and/or F5.
- At least 6 years of experience with technologies such as LTM, GTM, HA, GSLB, and content switching.
- At least 4 years of DNS experience, such as BlueCat, DNSSEC, and F5 XC.
- Experience troubleshooting complex financial, regulated, enterprise infrastructure environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, related experience, and/or military experience.
- U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent resident (Green Card) status.
- Ability to work a second-shift schedule and collaborate in person.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Python, Ansible, or other infrastructure automation tools.
- Experience with multi-factor authentication solutions.
- Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure migrations or modernization initiatives.
- F5 certifications such as F5-CTS or F5-CSE.
- Strong communication skills and experience working across technical teams, vendors, and business partners.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain critical local and global load-balancing infrastructure using Citrix NetScaler and F5 solutions.
- Manage DNS infrastructure and configurations.
- Design and implement load-balanced application configurations.
- Provide technical leadership and design guidance to application teams.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and drive problems through resolution.
- Lead platform upgrades, configuration changes, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
- Develop and maintain configurations for virtual servers, certificates, policies, and related services.
- Partner with application, infrastructure, security, OEM, and vendor teams on technical solutions.
- Develop technical standards, documentation, and implementation procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve and automate infrastructure processes using tools such as Python and Ansible.
- Provide technical guidance and share knowledge across engineering teams.
