About The Position

Intega is seeking a Senior Network / Infrastructure Engineer to provide advanced technical expertise, implementation leadership, and design support across customer network and infrastructure environments. This role bridges the gap between delivery-focused engineering and architecture authority. You will lead complex implementations, act as a senior escalation point, contribute to standards and designs, and mentor other engineers—while still remaining hands-on.

Requirements

  • Advanced routing, switching, VLANs, and network troubleshooting
  • Firewall architecture, policy management, and secure segmentation
  • Site-to-site and remote access VPN design
  • Design and performance optimization of secure wireless networks
  • Advanced Windows Server administration and troubleshooting
  • Virtualization platforms (VMware and/or Hyper-V)
  • Infrastructure performance analysis and root cause diagnostics
  • Infrastructure change planning and risk assessment
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and preventative remediation
  • Solution design documentation and implementation planning
  • Collaboration across engineering, operations, and security teams
  • Strong ownership and accountability
  • Calm, precise decision-making under pressure
  • Ability to lead without formal authority
  • Clear, confident technical communication
  • 5–8 years of experience in network and infrastructure engineering
  • Strong hands-on experience with server infrastructure and virtualization
  • Demonstrated ownership of complex implementations and major escalations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in MSP or multi-customer environments strongly preferred
  • CCNA / CCNP or equivalent experience
  • Firewall certifications (Fortinet NSE4-8, SonicWall)
  • Microsoft Windows Server, Azure, or VMware certifications

Responsibilities

  • Serve as senior escalation for complex network, server, and infrastructure issues
  • Design and implement advanced solutions involving routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, wireless, and server infrastructure
  • Lead resolution of high-impact, multi-system incidents and recurring problems
  • Design and administer advanced Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and core infrastructure services
  • Lead virtualization implementations and optimization across VMware, Hyper-V, and hybrid platforms
  • Plan and execute server upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle refresh activities
  • Validate backup, recovery, and disaster-recovery configurations for server workloads
  • Produce solution designs and implementation plans for moderate to high-complexity changes and projects
  • Ensure solutions align with architectural standards and security requirements
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of infrastructure standards and reference designs
  • Lead infrastructure changes with appropriate risk assessment, testing, and documentation
  • Act as technical lead on infrastructure-heavy projects
  • Coordinate closely with NOC, Security, M365, and Project teams to ensure clean delivery and handoff
  • Mentor Network / Infrastructure Administrators
  • Provide guidance on troubleshooting approaches, design considerations, and best practices
  • Raise quality and consistency across delivery of infrastructure and networking projects
