About The Position

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Senior Network Engineer to design, implement and maintain our network infrastructure across on premises data centres and cloud environments. Key Responsibilities include network deployment, configuration and installation of network devices and services, design and implementation of Fortinet based security solutions, operation and troubleshooting of routing protocols, development of network automation scripts, and familiarity with troubleshooting tools. The role also involves datacenter and infrastructure tasks such as installing and maintaining network racks, structured cabling, managing power sources and environmental controls. Security and monitoring responsibilities include implementing next generation firewalls, VPNs, intrusion prevention systems, monitoring network performance and capacity, and participating in an on-call rotation. Documentation and process responsibilities include documenting network designs, configurations, policies and procedures, and following ITIL based processes. Cross-functional collaboration involves working closely with system administrators, security engineers and application teams, providing Level 2/3 support, mentoring junior staff, and assisting with infrastructure projects.

Requirements

  • Proven hands-on network engineering experience
  • CCNP level knowledge or higher preferred
  • Experience working with Cisco products, ideally Firepower (NGFW) and Cisco FMC
  • Demonstrated experience with Fortinet products (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer)
  • Exposure to Azure networking or willingness to obtain the Azure Network Engineer Associate certification
  • Possesses the right to work in the USA
  • Willingness to support after hours or emergency work and to remain on call

Responsibilities

  • Configure and install network devices and services; routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, VXLAN, etc; ensuring stable, scalable, secure architectures.
  • Design and implement Fortinet based security solutions (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer); monitor and optimize their performance.
  • Operate and troubleshoot routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP; support Layer 2 technologies including VLANs, STP and VXLAN.
  • Develop network automation and remediation scripts in Python and maintain scripts for monitoring using SNMP.
  • Familiar with tools such as wireshark and tcpdump for troubleshooting and fault analysis.
  • Install and maintain datacentre network racks and structured cabling; perform cable management and ensure wiring is documented and colour coded for easy fault detection.
  • Manage power sources and environmental controls in the datacentre facility; liaise with facilities teams on AC/DC power, HVAC and rack layout.
  • Implement next generation firewalls, VPNs and intrusion prevention systems; conduct security assessments and vulnerability scans.
  • Monitor network performance and capacity; analyse traffic using network monitoring tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds or PRTG; plan upgrades and patches.
  • Participate in on call rotation and respond to afterhours incidents and deployment requests.
  • Document network designs, configurations, policies and procedures; maintain asset inventories and cabling diagrams.
  • Follow ITIL based change, incident and problem management processes; help develop runbooks and knowledge articles.
  • Work closely with system administrators, security engineers and application teams to support new services and troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Provide Level 2/3 support, mentor junior staff and assist with infrastructure projects.
