About The Position

Lead Mission‑Critical Network Modernization for the U.S. Space Force as a Senior Network Engineer! As a Senior Network Engineer, you will architect, implement, and secure advanced network solutions across diverse, mission‑critical environments. You’ll lead onsite surveys, drive secure design development, oversee deployment execution, and ensure resilient, high‑availability connectivity that meets demanding SLAs. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and at least 7 years of experience; OR High school diploma or associate degree plus 9+ years supporting large, complex networks.
  • Extensive experience across wired, wireless, and mobile broadband solutions.
  • Proven leadership in developing network designs, policies, and upgrade plans.
  • Hands‑on experience implementing routing technologies (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
  • Experience creating cyber and compliance artifacts (STIGs, POA&Ms, PPS, data flows).
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to resolve complex hardware/software/network issues.
  • Secret eligible at minimum.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio) and AutoCAD.
  • CCNP or equivalent.
  • CompTIA Security+ (or higher).
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to collaborate effectively with customers, engineers, and cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop end‑to‑end network architectures for wired, wireless, and mobile broadband platforms.
  • Produce topology diagrams, design packages, and technical artifacts that meet or exceed connectivity, availability, reliability, and security SLAs.
  • Lead the creation of preliminary and final SPRIP documentation.
  • Conduct comprehensive site surveys to evaluate infrastructure, environmental factors, and mission constraints.
  • Identify optimal hardware, software, and configuration strategies for modernization efforts.
  • Direct installation activities while ensuring compliance with safety standards and base operating requirements.
  • Oversee configuration, turn‑up, and cutover events in coordination with base Communications Squadrons and cybersecurity teams.
  • Ensure installed systems meet STIG requirements and align with all applicable DAF policies.
  • Design and implement routing policies using BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
  • Develop secure network, system, and application architectures.
  • Create cyber artifacts including diagrams, hardware/software lists, STIG checklists, PPS matrices, and POA&Ms.
  • Implement and support SNMP, SYSLOG, orchestration, and related network‑management solutions.
  • Deliver Over‑the‑Shoulder Training (OST) to O&M teams post‑deployment.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and issue resolution after system cutover.
  • Prepare or contribute to program deliverables and performance metrics.
