About The Position

Quantum Sky is searching for a Senior Network Engineer to provide advanced technical leadership for enterprise network architecture, engineering, implementation, optimization, and troubleshooting. The position is responsible for complex network environments and provides technical guidance for modernization, resiliency, security, and performance initiatives. The person in this role also serves as the top technical escalation point for network issues.

Requirements

  • An active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required (experience and education equivalents are considered and can be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 8+ years of general work experience / 6+ years relevant “functional” experience
  • Demonstrated experience architecting large-scale, highly available network environments
  • Deep expertise in routing, switching, network security, and often SD-WAN/cloud networking
  • Strong project leadership and documentation skills

Nice To Haves

  • CCNP Enterprise (routing and switching) or CCNP Security (or equivalent vendor-neutral advanced certification) strongly preferred
  • Experience with the following, including design, upgrades, maintenance, and deployment: Cisco and Juniper network devices
  • OSPF, BGP, EIGRP routing protocols (working knowledge)
  • DMVPN (CNSSP-15 compliant)
  • Juniper ADVPN
  • Cisco 802.1X
  • Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
  • Cisco Firepower
  • Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) (migration from ASA)

Responsibilities

  • Design and lead implementation of enterprise network architecture (LAN/WAN/data center)
  • Lead complex network projects, including migrations, redesigns, and capacity expansions
  • Serve as the highest-level technical escalation for critical network outages
  • Establish network standards, configuration baselines, and best practices
  • Evaluate and recommend new network technologies and vendors
  • Mentor mid-level network engineers and review their designs and configurations
  • Partner with security and infrastructure teams on network segmentation and zero-trust initiatives
