About The Position

MartinFed is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, install, configure, and document a standalone Cisco-based network in a dedicated lab environment. The role requires hands-on experience deploying complex enterprise network solutions, familiarity with Cisco technologies, and disciplined practices for building secure, reliable, fully documented networks. The engineer will deploy Cisco ACI and SDA networks, wireless access points, firewall uplinks, and associated security zones; implement foundational enterprise services such as DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory; and test integration, functionality, and performance. The role also includes troubleshooting complex issues, producing system documentation, and coordinating with clients, project leads, internal stakeholders, and technical teams on requirements, project progress, risks, and recommendations. The position is in an inside-office environment and involves extended computer use and potentially long periods of sitting. The work environment is fast-paced and may involve extreme deadline pressures. Employment is contingent upon passing a background check before starting, and employees are subject to random drug screenings.

Requirements

Hands-on experience deploying complex enterprise network solutions.

Ability to interface directly with clients to define IT project requirements.
Ability to implement project documentation governance in accordance with company and client requirements.
Ability to track progress against project goals, objectives, approved budgets, and timelines.
Ability to assess change requests and manage approvals and change orders.
Ability to identify complex project risks and develop and implement risk mitigation and contingency plans.
Ability to interpret procedures, organizational policies, and business practices to make decisions.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with potentially extreme deadline pressures.
Must pass a background check before the start date; subject to random drug screenings during employment.

Responsibilities

Design, install, configure, and document a standalone Cisco network tailored for a lab environment.
Deploy and configure Cisco ACI fabric, Cisco SDA networks, Cisco wireless access points, firewall uplinks, and associated security zones.
Implement best practices for segmentation, access control, and network performance.
Stand up and configure foundational enterprise services, including DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory.
Produce detailed system documentation, including network diagrams, configuration baselines, operational procedures, and test results.
Ensure configurations adhere to MartinFed quality standards and client-specific requirements.
Conduct functional and performance testing and ensure successful integration between network components.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across multiple layers.
Work with clients to define IT project requirements and with internal stakeholders, project leads, and technical teams.
Implement project documentation governance aligned with company and client requirements.
Track project progress against goals, objectives, approved budgets, and timelines.
Manage change requests by assessing impacts to scope, budget, schedule, quality, and risk; making recommendations; securing client approvals; and issuing change orders.
Identify complex project risks, lead constructability reviews, develop mitigation and contingency plans, and implement action plans to reduce or eliminate risks.
Provide project status updates, identify risks, and make recommendations.
Make decisions using interpretation of procedures, organizational policies, and business practices; set department deadlines; and make recommendations that directly affect the company.
Perform other duties as assigned.
