About The Position

MartinFed is hiring a highly motivated Junior SOC Operations Analyst for its Security Operations Center Watch-Floor team. This shift-based role supports continuous monitoring of the network environment and rapid response to cyber threats. The position includes monitoring and investigating security events, documenting and supporting remediation of incidents, conducting security assessments and forensic analysis, improving system security, and supporting deployable Incident Response Teams. Positions are contingent on passing a background check before the start date and are subject to random drug screenings during employment.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and a DoD Top Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in cybersecurity or threat intelligence.
• Experience using Splunk Enterprise Security for threat detection and analysis.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with Microsoft Sentinel.
• One or more of the following GIAC certifications: GIAC Continuous Monitoring (GMON), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), GIAC Forensic Analyst (GCFA), GIAC Intrusion Analyst (GCIA), or GIAC Network Forensic Analyst (GNFA).

Responsibilities

• Monitor computer networks to identify and respond to security threats in real time.
• Investigate cybersecurity incidents and breaches to determine their cause and impact.
• Document security breaches and support efforts to contain, remediate, and prevent recurrence.
• Perform security assessments, including vulnerability scanning and penetration testing.
• Recommend and implement best practices for system security enhancements.
• Install, configure, and manage security software, firewalls, and encryption protocols.
• Conduct forensic analysis of compromised systems, including imaging, data recovery, and timeline analysis.
• Support deployable Incident Response Teams (IRTs) with cyber defense operations and technical summaries.
