About The Position

24-MAG LLC is offering a fully remote, independent contractor consulting opportunity for experienced Senior NDT Inspectors with Level II or Level III expertise. The work involves interpreting radiographic and ultrasonic data, including PAUT, and evaluating MT and PT indications, welds, components, and inspection evidence against applicable codes. Inspectors will identify and assess discontinuities, distinguish reportable flaws from acceptable conditions, and make technically defensible accept/reject recommendations in complex or ambiguous cases. The role also includes reviewing thermographic imagery and remote visual inspection footage when required; resolving conflicting or incomplete evidence; preparing accurate reports that document findings, rationale, and recommended actions; explaining conclusions to varied audiences; and collaborating asynchronously with technical peers. Project scope, inspection methods, and applicable standards may vary. Work must not use confidential, proprietary, export-controlled, classified, customer-restricted, or otherwise protected third-party inspection data, documentation, or materials. No prior AI experience is required.

  • Analyze ultrasonic and phased-array ultrasonic testing scan data.
  • Identify relevant discontinuities and flaw characteristics, and distinguish reportable indications from acceptable conditions.
  • Review magnetic particle testing indications and evaluate penetrant testing results.
  • Assess flaw morphology, relevance, and severity, and identify ambiguous indications requiring additional review.
  • Apply ASME Section V requirements and evaluate findings against applicable weld acceptance criteria.
  • Reference API 510, API 570, and API 653 where relevant, and apply API 1104 and AWS D1.1 principles where applicable.
