Senior Mortgage Underwriter

Pylon•Phoenix, AZ

About The Position

Pylon is building a vertically integrated mortgage platform that turns origination into a single API. The Senior Mortgage Underwriter will join the Platform team, underwrite loans end to end, and provide expert human judgment behind the company’s automated Decisioning engine to support efficient, compliant loan origination. The role involves working directly with customers on complex files and providing hands-on feedback to product and engineering teams so the platform can automate more underwriting over time. This is a technology-focused role in a regulated industry, rather than a position at a traditional mortgage lender. The underwriter is expected to balance performance with compliance, take ownership of outcomes, favor scalable software solutions over operational workarounds, and help customers and borrowers succeed. The role also oversees third-party fulfillment partners and contributes ideas and expertise to improve the product, team, and mortgage fulfillment infrastructure.
