About The Position

Allstate is seeking an experienced Senior MongoDB Database Platform Engineer to join its Database Engineering team and build, operate, and modernize the enterprise MongoDB platform. The role supports production and non-production environments across on-premises infrastructure and MongoDB Atlas PaaS, with responsibilities spanning design, implementation, automation, security, performance, high availability, backup and recovery, and operational support. The engineer will develop and operate MongoDB replica sets and sharded clusters; manage installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle activities; and establish engineering standards, reference architectures, and operational practices. The role also supports disaster recovery, backup and restore, performance optimization, security and compliance, automation, observability, capacity planning, and production incident response. The engineer will collaborate across application, infrastructure, security, SRE, network, and cloud engineering teams, provide technical leadership, and mentor other engineers. The position includes participation in on-call rotations, major incident response, change management, and problem management. Allstate provides a technology setup including a laptop, monitors, headset, keyboard, and mouse. Employees eligible to work from home receive a monthly connectivity reimbursement. Those working from home must have a dedicated private workspace and reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload.
