About The Position

We're seeking a dedicated Model Based Definition Engineer to join our team, contributing to the next generation of jet engine technology. You will be responsible for creating detailed 2D cross-sections, 3D models, and Model-Based Definitions (MBD) within Siemens NX and Teamcenter environments. You may also aid in redesigning external components, investigate root causes for failures, and participate in design reviews. The role involves conceptualizing and designing gas turbine external components, working with cross-functional teams to define dimensional constraints and geometric tolerances, and utilizing Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to improve quality, speed, and precision. Project management within CAD and CAM environments, adhering to budget and schedule, is also a key aspect.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 3 years in 3D modeling of aero-engines and gas turbine components.
Proficiency in Siemens NX/Teamcenter preferred.
Strong understanding of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
Ability to interpret technical drawings.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to engage with team members at all levels.
U.S. citizenship required.
Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one.

Nice To Haves

Advanced Degree: Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 1-3 years of product definition experience.
Experience with Siemens NX CAD Drafting and MBD, and Teamcenter PLM in designing mechanical engine components.
Experience in adoption and/or integration of emerging technologies (e.g., generative AI, automation platforms, digital assistants) into day-to-day operations for continuous improvement.
Ability to get to customer locations to visit customer locations.

Responsibilities

Create detailed 2D cross-sections, 3D models, and Model-Based Definitions (MBD) within Siemens NX and Teamcenter environments.
Aid in the redesign of various externals components, support the investigation of root cause for failures, and subsequent design reviews.
Conceptualize and design gas turbine external components.
Work with cross-functional teams to define dimensional constraints and geometric tolerances, ensuring optimal manufacturing processes.
Utilize Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to drive improvements in quality, speed, and precision.
Navigate CAD and CAM environments, managing projects within budget and schedule, delivering uncompromising quality.
