About The Position

ComPsych is modernizing its technology with new customer-facing web and mobile experiences, a unified design system, and AI-powered product capabilities. The Senior Mobile Engineer will own significant parts of the mobile foundation and work end to end with Engineering, Product, and Design. The role treats AI-assisted, agentic development as a standard part of planning, implementation, testing, and review while maintaining production-quality, reviewable, and maintainable software. The engineer is accountable for the full mobile lifecycle within their area, including architecture, implementation, testing, review, release, and production operation. The role includes technical direction for a platform supporting multiple branded apps, partnership with Product, Design, and QA, and ownership of mobile production and platform health. Because the apps handle behavioral health data, reliability, privacy, and correctness are essential.

Requirements

Experience shipping and operating production mobile apps at meaningful scale.
Comfort with App Store and Google Play releases, staged rollouts, OTA updates, and production support.
Strong mobile architecture fundamentals, including state and data management, caching, persistence, offline behavior, navigation, performance, and associated tradeoffs.
Ability to read and debug Swift or Kotlin, diagnose native crashes and build issues, and work with native modules and third-party SDKs.
Ability to design and verify testing strategies across unit, integration, end-to-end, and device testing.
Ability to diagnose performance and reliability problems using profiling, crash diagnostics, and production telemetry.
Ability to design for mobile security, privacy, and accessibility, including secure storage, authentication and session handling, sensitive-data flows, third-party SDK risk, and accessible VoiceOver and TalkBack patterns.
Strong software engineering fundamentals beyond mobile UI, including APIs, data models, authentication flows, and service integrations.
Technical leadership skills, including turning ambiguous problems into sound designs, explaining tradeoffs, reviewing work in depth, and helping engineers grow.
Experience using agentic tools as a primary surface for planning, implementation, testing, and review, including delegating scoped work and verifying generated APIs and platform behavior.

Nice To Haves

React Native and Expo experience; strongly preferred.
Experience with Jest, Maestro, or similar testing tools.
Experience with Java, Python, C#, Kotlin, Go, or similar languages.
Experience with Expo/EAS at scale.
Experience with multi-brand app architecture.
Contributions to open-source React Native tooling.

Responsibilities

Own a mobile product area end to end, including its architecture, delivery, release path, production behavior, and shared capabilities used by other teams.
Set technical direction for the mobile platform and shape shared architecture across multiple branded apps.
Frame complex mobile problems, sequence work, define completion criteria for real devices, and create specifications suitable for AI agents.
Partner with Product, Design, and QA, incorporating release mechanics, app-version adoption, device and OS behavior, and accessibility into solution decisions.
Define success measures for the area and use adoption, reliability, performance, and crash signals to assess results and identify improvements.
Own mobile production and platform health, lead incident response, ensure release and rollback readiness, monitor OS, SDK, and store-policy changes, and address recurring failures structurally.
Design, implement, test, review, release, and operate mobile software throughout its lifecycle.
Provide technical leadership by developing sound designs, explaining tradeoffs, reviewing work, and helping other engineers grow.
Use agentic tools for planning, implementation, testing, and review while checking their outputs and remaining accountable for shipped work.
