American Wood Fibers (AWF) is a manufacturer of both consumer and industrial products that are sold to multiple manufacturers as well as pet, agricultural, and home-heating markets. AWF is comprised of 450+ employees and holds operations at 11 locations, generating over $100M in annual sales revenue. We are currently seeking a candidate for the 1st Shift Senior Millwright/Electromechanical Technician role in our Laurinburg, NC facility. JOB SUMMARY The Senior Millwright/Electromechanical Technician will operate in a safe and efficient manner of troubleshooting and repairing equipment and machinery. The primary duties include: MAINTENANCE Performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment and provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production. Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled productions runs. Performs mechanical work including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines. Responsible for PM‘s of all plant equipment. Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Safely operates mobile equipment including forklift, front loader, telehandler, skid steer, man lift, and yard/jockey trailer combination. May work in other duties as assigned. QUALITY Maintains and verifies that all current quality assurance measures are being followed and communicated to supervisors, production employees, truck drivers, office personnel, and customers. Assists in the design and implementation of new procedures as needed. SAFETY AND ADMINISTRATION Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules Responsible for safety, cleanliness, and organization of maintenance department. Communicates with supervisor and other maintenance personnel. Coordinates and administers company policies as they relate to the maintenance department. Conducts tests and reports items regarding insurance qualifications to meet safety regulations and standards. Attends and participates in monthly safety meetings. Establishes personal goals and works with fellow employees towards continuous improvement and teamwork. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The ability to lift 25-50 pounds regularly The ability to respond quickly to sounds The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations The ability to work in extreme weather The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly OTHER DUTIES Support the Maintenance Supervisor and Manager with other initiatives as assigned.
