As a main member of the metals team, you will be responsible for asset management of tooling and equipment. This includes management of new or replacement tooling, such as diecast, stamping, machining, and sheet metal equipment. You will work on intercompany projects of medium / high complexity and scope, with multiple activities in parallel across projects. You will lead and work with other teams and technical resources on inter-functional projects. These projects aim to achieve main factors of project success, including project schedule, cost, process / product quality, and transferability to manufacturing. You will report to the Manager, Fabrication Services and work hybrid out of Milwaukee, WI.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in an Engineering discipline
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • The ability to travel 10% of the time.

Nice To Haves

  • Designer experience with a minimum 5 years of experience in areas of metals (diecast, stamping, machining, and sheet metal equipment) processing, part and tool design.
  • Project Management, Global or Regional in scope, with minimum of 3 years of experience
  • PMP Certification.
  • Greenbelt or Blackbelt
  • Have knowledge in new product development processes, manufacturing assembly environments, and associated business systems
  • Asset management to include planning, budgeting, schedules and suppliers through implementation and product life.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee projects for NPI tooling.
  • Design and evaluate tool repair requests. The goal is to discern if the need, cost, and duration of repairs are reasonable.
  • Participate in commodity-level meetings with partners in Strategic Sourcing, Quality, and Manufacturing to identify opportunities for improvements in cost-saving efforts and be a strategic partner with our suppliers.
  • Use tool building and processing expertise to benchmark and technically evaluate production facilities and external suppliers.
  • Use processing and design expertise to work with internal engineers and external suppliers to resolve part design and manufacturability issues.
  • Determine project scope, managing project budgets, developing project specifications, working with project stakeholders, and managing suppliers.
  • Resolve complex process issues, reduce variation and deploy best practices globally.
