Interested in joining us on our journey? GE Appliances is seeking a strategic, results-driven executive to serve as Senior Director, Sourcing – Metals. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for shaping sourcing strategy, driving cost performance, and strengthening supplier partnerships across our metals categories. This leader will oversee a global sourcing organization and manage a significant direct material spend portfolio that is essential to the company’s profitability, operational performance, and long-term growth. The role partners closely with Product Line, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure sourcing strategies are aligned to business priorities and executed effectively in support of both current production and new product introductions. The ideal candidate brings deep sourcing and supply chain leadership experience, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to navigate dynamic commodity markets while building high-performing teams and strategic supplier relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in sourcing, supply chain, or related fields
  • Significant experience leading sourcing, supply chain, or commercial teams in a complex, global environment
  • 5+ years of experience within a Director-level or above Sourcing role
  • Ability and willingness to travel 10-20% (domestic and international) to suppliers or internal product line sites

  • Strong supplier strategy, negotiation, and relationship management experience

  • Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to translate data into action
  • Experience analyzing and improving Business Continuity Plans and determining financial risk (Rapid Ratings or others)
  • Should-Cost modeling software experience (aPriori, Siemens or others)

Responsibilities

  • Lead a global sourcing organization responsible for metals categories, including stampings, fabricated components, and raw materials
  • Drive cost competitiveness and margin improvement through strategic sourcing, supplier partnerships, and market-informed decision making
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies that ensure supply continuity, capacity, and risk mitigation
  • Build and lead strategic supplier relationships, including complex negotiations and performance management
  • Partner cross-functionally to align sourcing with product strategy, design, and manufacturing execution
  • Support new product introductions (NPI) by ensuring supplier readiness, cost targets, and timelines are achieved
  • Navigate commodity markets, including steel and aluminum, and develop strategies to manage volatility and inflation
  • Lead and develop a high-performing global team, building capabilities and fostering a strong performance culture
  • Collaborate across the Haier global ecosystem to leverage scale, share best practices, and drive continuous improvement
