About The Position
Intertek (BML) is a global leader in metallurgical testing, process flowsheet development, and mineralogical analysis interpretation. We are seeking an experienced Senior Metallurgist for our Kamloops location to work on Mineral Processing projects. The role involves experience with comminution, flotation, leaching, and pressure oxidation, and would be well-suited for someone with experience in operations and metallurgical testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mineral Processing, Extractive Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering
- Metallurgical testing in a laboratory setting is required
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Good communication skills with well-developed written and oral skills
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience in mineral processing; gold or base metals processing preferred
Nice To Haves
- PEng registration preferred
Responsibilities
- Manage projects, including bid preparation, client interaction, completing metallurgical balances and communicating data to clients, analyzing data and determining the direction of the testing program, analyzing and presenting data in a format suitable for the project final report, and writing final technical reports.
- Conducting, supervising, and reporting on bench scale and pilot plant test work.
- Directing, supervising, and conducting test work in the laboratory when necessary.
- Liaising with a Technical Services Manager regarding ongoing test programmes.
- Providing a mentoring role for other technical staff.
- Observing established safety regulations and complying with all health and safety policies.
- Other duties as assigned by the manager.
