About The Position

Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran (TSX:ELD) is seeking a Senior Metallurgist to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site working a 14/14 rotation. Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran is advancing the McIlvenna Bay project, a cornerstone asset and one of the most significant copper development projects in Canada. With commercial production expected in mid-2026, this world-class deposit contains copper, zinc, gold, and silver – key metals for the global transition to green energy. As part of the Mill Operations Team, the Senior Metallurgist is responsible for overseeing all aspects of metallurgical operations and providing technical leadership. You will drive the optimization of processes, ensure quality control, and contribute to the safe and efficient extraction of valuable minerals at optimum concentrate grades. You will lead a team of metallurgists and collaborate with cross-functional departments to achieve operational excellence and maintain the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and environmental compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering or related field.
  • 6+ years’ experience in mineral processing with demonstrated technical and leadership growth.
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a P.Eng in Saskatchewan.
  • Strong knowledge of processing operations including recovery, concentrate production, and process control.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Skilled in process optimization, data analysis, and problem-solving.
  • Solid understanding of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with metallurgical modeling, data tools, and plant control systems.
  • Effective communication, organization, and project management capabilities.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a proactive approach to innovation and team development.
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the metallurgical team, supporting technical performance, development, and continuous improvement.
  • Optimize processing performance to improve recovery, throughput, efficiency, and product quality.
  • Oversee metallurgical test work, troubleshooting, research, and metallurgical accounting.
  • Monitor and analyze operational data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Mining, Engineering, and Operations to align plant performance with production targets.
  • Assess and support implementation of new technologies, equipment, and process enhancements.
  • Manage metallurgical resources and support achievement of production and quality targets.
  • Ensure metallurgical activities comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Prepare technical reports, recommendations, and presentations for management and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to long-term planning and development of metallurgical projects to support future growth.
  • Provide operational support to Mill Supervision as required.
