About The Position

The MEP Manager is responsible for overseeing all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across commercial construction projects, ensuring systems are designed, installed, and commissioned in alignment with project requirements, codes, and industry standards. This role serves as the technical lead for building systems and works closely with project management, design teams, subcontractors, and field staff to ensure successful delivery of high-performance facilities on schedule and within budget.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience managing MEP systems on commercial construction projects
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and controls systems
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, drawings, and specifications
  • Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform under pressure
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and client satisfaction

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Construction Engineering, or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage planning, coordination, and execution of all MEP systems across commercial projects
  • Lead and support MEP subcontractor selection, coordination, and performance management
  • Review scopes of work, schedules, submittals, drawings, and design changes for compliance and constructability
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project teams to resolve design and field coordination issues
  • Monitor MEP budgets, costs, and schedules; support forecasting and resource allocation decisions
  • Conduct site inspections and quality reviews to ensure compliance with codes, safety, and standards
  • Oversee system testing, startup, and commissioning of MEP systems
  • Serve as primary technical point of contact for MEP-related project matters
  • Identify and resolve system conflicts or field issues to maintain project performance
  • Maintain project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and commissioning records
  • Provide regular reporting on MEP progress, risks, and performance to project leadership
