The Senior Mental Health Clinician, under general supervision, is responsible for providing mental health counseling and outreach that is responsive to the unique backgrounds and needs of individuals, couples, and groups. This position assists in the coordination of counseling services, programs, and the development of new programs as well as provides training seminars and sharing professional expertise. May provide supervision for clinical staff and graduate trainees in counseling or mental health care. This role supports the mission of University Health Services by fostering the mental well-being and holistic development of Texas A&M students. This position will be housed off-site while reporting to the home office of University Health Services in the Student Services Building (SSB). This position will be supervised by a licensed clinician while partnering with administration in the respective college or department to serve the needs of the student population in that area of campus. The Senior Mental Health Clinician will meet weekly with their UHS team, attend staff meetings, and attend case consultations with fellow clinicians. A significant portion of the role may include teaching mental health topics in large classroom settings and developing close consultation partnerships with faculty and staff in the respective campus spaces.
