Senior MEMS Process Integration Engineer

Torramics Inc.Stanford, CA
$160,000 - $180,000Onsite

About The Position

We're looking for a Senior MEMS Process Integration Engineer to be a hands-on technical leader in the development and integration of our nanoCompressor process. You'll work directly in the fab, developing processes, running experiments, analyzing results, and helping coordinate the work required to move a world-first MEMS microfluidic device from R&D toward commercialization. Over time, this role is expected to become a key technical transfer lead as the process moves into production.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on semiconductor or MEMS process development / integration experience in a fab, R&D, or high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience operating process equipment and developing one or more core module areas such as thin films, lithography, etch, wet clean, MEMS release, or inline / failure-analysis metrology. This is not a hands-off or fabless-only role.
  • Strong statistical process and data-analysis capability, including DOE, SPC, capability analysis, and FMEA. JMP is useful, but equivalent tools such as Minitab, Excel, or other analysis platforms are welcome.
  • A degree in Materials Science, MEMS, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Sharp problem-identification and analytical instincts, plus the communication skills to make complex technical work clear to peers, partners, and leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with MEMS devices - resonators, sensors, microphones, gyroscopes - especially those incorporating microfluidics.
  • Experience transferring a process or technology from R&D into a production environment.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard layout files (GDS, OASIS).
  • Python or MATLAB.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on process development and integration. Work directly with process equipment to develop, optimize, and maintain the process steps that drive product performance, yield, and reliability.
  • Yield and reliability. Turn on-wafer metrology into insight using DOE, SPC, capability analysis, and appropriate data-analysis tools - spotting trends, root-causing issues, and locking in process stability.
  • The hardest problems in the fab. Design and run experiments, split lots, and process-development work to correct MEMS device and fab-process issues, reduce variation and defects, and shorten cycle time.
  • Technology transfer and team coordination. Work shoulder to shoulder with process, design, test, and technician team members, while building the technical depth to support eventual transfer to Torramics' production environment and external partners.
  • The knowledge base. Create process documentation, specifications, and SOPs the team can build on, and communicate findings clearly to engineers, partners, and leadership.

Benefits

  • Medical benefits
  • Dental benefits
  • Vision benefits
  • Equity eligibility with a four-year vesting structure
