About The Position

This is a full-time, day shift opportunity for a Senior Registration Associate (Medical Receptionist) in Latham, NY, at a new Primary Care office. The role involves performing and coordinating clerical duties for the efficient and service-oriented operation of a medical practice, aligning with the mission and core values of St. Peter's Health Partners Medical Associates. The position requires leadership qualities and a focus on patient care and revenue cycle metrics.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership skills required.
  • High School Diploma/Equivalent Required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products and other computer applications.
  • Demonstrated experience with delivering successful customer service.
  • Demonstrated experience with handling multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to manage difficult customers respectfully and without confrontation.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Previous medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and coordinate front-end functions including scheduling and registration, check-in, check-out, charge entry/claims, and end-of-day processes.
  • Manage daily staffing needs in coordination with office and float pool managers.
  • Serve as a mentor and role model to colleagues.
  • Schedule patient appointments to maximize patient access.
  • Handle all incoming calls and direct them appropriately.
  • Register patients, obtain necessary consent forms, and collect patient demographic data.
  • Collect co-pays, document monies collected, and generate patient receipts.
  • Act as a liaison between patients and clinical staff, monitoring for delays and informing patients.
  • Schedule all follow-up appointments, including ancillary and/or diagnostic tests.
  • Obtain pre-authorizations for diagnostic testing and referrals for specialist office visits.
  • Consistently and accurately pass charges in accordance with office policies and procedures.
  • Process information daily to electronically file into the Electronic Medical Record accurately.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Work cooperatively with all team members to ensure quality patient care.
  • Communicate respectfully and effectively with providers, clinical staff, colleagues, and managers.
  • Cross-cover other areas as needed.
  • Ensure distribution of work throughout the team is sufficient to meet daily schedules.
