About The Position

NBBJ Columbus is seeking a Senior Medical Planner to join their team in the design and planning of complex healthcare projects, including large-scale hospitals and ambulatory care centers. This role is part of a fully integrated design studio where architects, interior designers, medical planners, and clinical consultants collaborate from concept design through construction. The Senior Medical Planner will help build and lead the medical planning practice for all healthcare projects within the studio, design and plan hospitals and clinics, and partner with clients to identify objectives and formulate options. This position requires effective participation in Clinical User Group meetings and client presentations, and the ability to collaborate with Architects, Interior Designers, and Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 15+ years Medical Planning experience with demonstrated Leadership
  • Demonstrated excellence in design and innovation
  • Exceptional client leadership and communication
  • Experience in leading Healthcare projects from programming/concept design through construction administration
  • Experience working in a collaborative environment with design teams, consultants, clients
  • Skilled in leadership and management of user group engagements and development of deliverables
  • Knowledge of current healthcare planning and programming concepts including patient safety and evidence-based design principles
  • Understanding of programmatically rich healthcare projects from concept design and programming through construction administration
  • Experience participating in client user group meetings and collaborating with all related deliverables
  • Advanced knowledge with issues surrounding innovative healthcare strategic planning, master planning, programming, and design
  • Familiarity with healthcare design literature and evidence-based design research
  • Ability to work collaboratively with in-house team of medical planners and coordinate with external consultants
  • Exceptional listening, written, verbal and graphic communication skills required
  • Proficient in Revit with 3D modeling skills preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Sketchup, Rhino or 3DS Max desired

Responsibilities
