The Senior Medical Director for Behavioral Health serves as the physician leader for region physicians in the Intermountain Medical Group Behavioral Health Service Line and works collaboratively in a dyad leadership structure with a service line director. The Senior Medical Director drives engagement of physicians and advanced practice providers, assures clinical best practice is achieved in accordance with the Fundamentals of Extraordinary Care across the service line’s specialties and assures strong workforce planning in all disciplines. The Senior Medical Director provides leadership, oversight, and support for the development of a culture of high reliability and the measurement of care, identifying opportunities, building relationships, and executing on strategies to drive the performance and measured improvement of the service line. The Senior Medical Director selects, guides, and develops subordinate medical leaders to manage domains and achieve service line goals. The Senior Medical Director works collaboratively with all assigned region disciplines including Medical Group, peer service lines and markets, as well as Enterprise disciplines, including Clinical Programs, Clinical Shared Services, Clinical Excellence, Research, Medical Education, and the clinically integrated network.
