About The Position

The Director Behavioral Health will be responsible for responding to referrals and requests for services and information, including the appropriate clinical screening of potential admissions for treatment. This role interfaces closely with the medical staff, fellow department heads and administration and functions as a liaison with other Behavioral Health Centers. The Director will coordinate hiring, training, development and coaching/counseling of all Call Center Counselors, RNs and Associates. They will write and revise departmental policies and procedures in accordance with system goals, and ensure compliance with licensure requirements for all members of the department. This position manages and coordinates all call center projects and ensures 24-hour coverage, ensuring that all information obtained by Call Center Counselors is accurate and clinically based decisions have been made regarding the patient's level of care. The role involves working within all areas of the hospitals including but not limited to units, clinics, cottages and emergency departments. The Director will keep reports and reconcile interpreting expenses for the hospital. Additionally, they will provide and ensure quality guest/customer relations and ensure that the manner in which the Call Center staff communicates with patients, families, referral sources and fellow staff is effective and professional.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, counseling or related field required.
  • Minimum of 2 years management experience required.
