About The Position

Christiana Care Primary Care at Hockessin is seeking a professional, dependable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant II with strong communication, integrity, and solid technical and clinical skills. ChristianaCare Primary Care at Hockessin provides comprehensive primary medical care for adults and children, including vaccinations, physical examinations, and minor medical procedures. The Medical Assistant II ensures high-quality patient care, assists providers with virtual and on-site exams and treatments, and provides leadership by mentoring staff and supporting practice operations.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
  • 2 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant is required.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years’ experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports virtual and on-site patient care by rooming patients, recording vitals, performing tests, injections, medication administration, and EKGs.
  • Assists clinicians with exams and procedures.
  • Prepares treatment rooms.
  • Manages EMR documentation.
  • Handles patient callbacks.
  • Maintains equipment sterilization.
  • Manages authorizations, referrals, refills, and scheduling.
  • Performs quality control of POCT equipment.
  • Handles clerical tasks.
  • Manages supply inventory.
  • Provides staff coverage.
  • Ensures safe work practices.
