Performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of assigned area or office. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s degree in Medical Assistant required.
  • Certificate from a college in Medical Assistant in lieu of Associate's required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant Certificate or Registered Medical Assistant required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association required.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of assigned area or office.
  • Assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
  • Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
  • Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintains examination areas.
  • Organizes workflow of clinical staff.
